Visionary Weekly Roundup!

In The News:

Tesco is reportedly set to launch a discount chain, dubbed Jack’s, across the UK this autumn but can it build a brand from scratch to truly rival the already well-established German discounters?

Visionary Food Solutions CCO Gareth Hobbs comments; "If this becomes a reality then the whole retail landscape in the UK could change. It seems Tesco have tried a number of ways of countering the pressure from the emergence of the German discounters over the years, from  £1 aisles to the launch of their discount brands, and now it seems like the good old saying of if you can't beat them, join them is the case. It begs to ask the question to Tesco's strategy to the UK and will they take their off the ball with so much going on. 2018/19 is going to be a busy period for the retail giant with a proposed sourcing deal with Carrefour, making the Booker merger work, more range resets and now a potential discounter brand to launch! Busy times."
