Tesco and Carrefour plan ‘Strategic alliance”

Big news this week as Tesco and Carrefour, Britain’s biggest grocer and Europe’s largest retailer, have increased the pressure on supermarket suppliers by potentially teaming up to buy products for more than 19,000 stores – a move they claim will lead to greater choice and lower prices for customers. If this plays out, it'll be interesting to see what impact it may have on the Tesco UK supply base. Will there be opportunity to enter more European markets or potential for more delists to make way for new products agreed through the sourcing deal?

The addition of new staff member, Becci Glastonbury this week as marketing manager brings the team to a total of eight highly experienced and motivated individuals. Fluent Welsh speaker, Becci has previously run marketing campaigns for the highly praised Wales Week London, global facility management company REAMS and on trend beauty brand, Spacemasks. Her knowledge, experience and passion for marketing will bring a new level of expertise to the team and add value to current customers. We are thrilled to have her on board.

This week the Foodservice division have been busy overseeing the launch of the Bidfood Summer Promotions for our clients in this leading national wholesaler.  On top of this we have been focusing on achieving further growth for our other businesses, team building and looking at cultural challenges of bringing new teams together. Not forgetting, we’ve been discussing International Brand development for German & French markets.. et Voila!
