MEET OUR NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

We have been fortunate to recruit some really high calibre people to our team, and are delighted to welcome Stephen, Mike and Maria to Visionary.”
Meet our new Business Development Manager Mike! We had a quick Q+A with him when he joined!
Tell us about yourself!
I have been in Foodservice all my working life since leaving catering college in Plymouth. I worked in 4* hotels for over 8 years in various managerial roles and also ran my own chain of cafes
What was your past role?
The past 23 years I have been employed by Bidfood, initially in sales management roles for 6 years but then I moved into events. The job grew from a few small scale exhibitions and conferences using OHP & Screen to managing a small team of 5 running over 100 events a year which included food festivals with 130+ suppliers and 1000+ visitors, massive award dinners using the latest in LED video wall technology and lighting effects and sales conferences for the 450+ sales managers in the business.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy playing football socially each week in all weathers, though I’m enjoying the drinks afterwards a bit more nowadays.
I love my motorsport, F1 and touring cars and I’m a big tech fan, I’ve spent far too much over the years on all sorts of gadgets !
What you love about the food and drink industry?
I love how it continually evolves and re-invents itself with new innovative products to suit the modern style of living.
What are you excited about working with VFS?
I can’t wait to meet new brand developers and join them on their exciting journey from product creation to being delivered by wholesalers. I am also looking forward to working with end user customers again, building those relationships and matching our brands to their needs.
